Donation Refund Policy
1. Purpose
Ken Ogelo Foundation is committed to transparency, accountability, and ethical financial management. This Donation Refund Policy outlines the circumstances under which refunds may be granted and the procedures for requesting them.
2. General Policy
Donations made to Ken Ogelo Foundation are considered voluntary contributions intended to support vulnerable elders. As a general principle, donations are non-refundable. However, refunds may be considered under specific circumstances outlined below.
3. Eligible Refund Circumstances
A refund may be issued if:
• The donation was made in error (e.g., duplicate transaction).
• An incorrect donation amount was entered.
• The transaction was unauthorized (subject to verification).
• A technical error occurred during the donation process.
Requests must be made within 14 days of the transaction date.
4. Refund Request Procedure
To request a refund, the donor must:
1. Submit a written request via email to the foundation.
2. Provide the following details:
- Full name
- Date of donation
- Donation amount
- Transaction reference number
- Reason for refund request
The foundation may request additional information to verify the transaction before processing the refund.
5. Processing of Refunds
• Approved refunds will be processed within 7–14 business days.
• Refunds will be issued using the original method of payment where possible.
• Any transaction fees charged by banks or payment processors may be deducted from the refunded amount.
6. Restricted Donations
Donations that are already allocated, distributed, or used for program activities may not be eligible for refund unless required by law.
7. Discretion
Ken Ogelo Foundation reserves the right to decline refund requests that do not meet the criteria outlined in this policy. All decisions regarding refunds will be made in good faith and in alignment with financial accountability standards.
8. Policy Review
This policy may be updated periodically to ensure compliance with applicable laws and best practices in nonprofit financial management.
