From Despair to Dignity: The Heartbeat of Elder Care
The projects presented reflect the Foundation’s forward vision and development roadmap. We are currently in the planning and resource mobilisation phase, working toward phased implementation.
At the heart of the Ken Ogelo Foundation vision is the Malaika Wellness Centre — a dedicated hub for healing, learning, and empowerment.
Located on one acre along the Oyugis–Homa Bay Road, opposite Nyangiela Primary School, it is designed as a restorative haven for the elderly — a space rooted in dignity, compassion, health, and community
Vision for the future
In time, we envision the Malaika Wellness Centre growing into an integrated hub which supports
our elderly community through education, connection, and loving care.
Community Care & Wellness

Caregiver and Family Training
Regular workshops train local volunteers and families in hygiene care, wound management, mental health first aid, and elder rights advocacy.

Central Office & Outreach Hub
Serves as the nerve center for coordinating mobile clinics, food distribution, and protection efforts—all from a dignified, professional setting.
Why The Centre Matters
Where dignity is restored and elders find life again
Creates an environment of respect and belonging—no elderly person should ever feel neglected or invisible again.
Integrates physical, mental, legal, and social care in one accessible and community-rooted space.
The kitchen garden and training programs build a foundation for self-reliance and inter-generational empowerment.
Functioning as both a demonstration site and a coordination hub, the centre inspires replication across Kenya.
